Another fairly uneventful week has gone by once again! Summer is going to be over before I actually decide I want to do something... I'm sure this will happen!
I did take my little brother to see Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters at the cinema though!
This week I have received, bought and borrowed:
Thank you, Orchard books! In truth, I won an ARC of this last year but couldn't bring myself to read it because I've heard that it's sad... so here's for round two!
Antigoddess (Goddess War #1) by Kendare Blake - Received -
Thank you, Orchard books! I've heard that this one is amazing and I can't wait to start it, especially since it's to do with Greek mythology!!
I was at a car boot sale and got so many books for 50p each!! I've read this and LOVED it and couldn't resist getting my own copy.
Velvet by Mary Hooper - Bought -
Another book I got for 50p. A historical fiction, I see.
I got these two because I've seen them around in book shops and thought 50p each? why not?!
Reckoning (Bloodline #2) by Kate Cary - Bought -
When I saw these three at the sale, I had to snatch them up! I read this series a few years a go and remember loving it very much. If you like vampires, check out this series.
Stargazer (Evernight #2) by Claudia Gray - Bought -
Claire de Lune (Claire de Lune #1) by Christine Johnson - Borrowed -
I think this sounds pretty cool. A werewolf story? Haven't read one in a while and looking forward to seeing how it goes.
I know, I know, I am SO late! But the library has only just got the book in so here it is... I've heard a lot of good things and I'm sure this will not disappoint.
Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin #2) by R.L. LaFevers - Borrowed -
I'm thanking the library that they had this one in as well!
Have no clue what this one is about... But it looks cool so bring it on!
Falling by Cat Clarke - Borrowed -
I'm getting into Cat's novels because I liked Undone, but that seems to be the only one I like out of the novels she has out so far. Hopefully this one will be good, it's a very short story for dyslexia readers which I'm eager to try out.
All I can say is: WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Ben is hotttttttt. Definitely adore this cover and I've been waiting for this book for so long.... GAH! HOPEFULLY I WILL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS THE FIRST <3 TYPING IN CAPITALS BECAUSE OF EXCITEMENT.
Enjoy all your books,
Sam :D

For what it's worth, I quite liked Claire D'lune and Grave Mercy. Also, the whole Percy Jackson series is pretty much the coolest thing in the world, according to all my 12-and 13-year-old male students. I haven't read them yet, as I'm just not all that into Greek mythology. But I'm pleased that the boys really like them. (Some of the girls like the books as well, but it's mostly a "guy thing" at our school.)
ReplyDeleteAwesome haul! Tiger Lily sounds really good and I really like the cover. I hope you enjoy everything. :D
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Sea of Monsters was good, going to see it next week and can't wait! Great new books, I really need to read Unbreakable soon!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books and happy reading :)
Love the Percy Jackson books! I'm meh about the movies - that first one was okay. Grave Mercy was my favorite book last year! And I didn't really like Claudia Gray's vampire series, but I cannot wait to read Kendare Blake's Antigoddess! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week!
Check out my STS post!
I have both Evernight and Stargazer but I haven't read either of them yet. I hope to soon though and I hope you enjoy them. Happy Reading :)
ReplyDeleteMy IMM
The only reason Sea of Monsters was good was because you haven't read the books. I went to see it with all my equally-obsessed friends yesterday, and after it ended we ranted for a good 15 minutes about how awful it was. -_-
ReplyDeleteGreat haul, though! I LOVED Grave Mercy - Dark Triumph wasn't as good, but worth it - and was so glad I got to meet the author this past year. ^.^
Tiger Lily is good too - I'm not sure if you know, but it's in Tinkerbell's POV, so it's really cool.
I haven't read any of the others, unfortunately. Can't wait to read the reviews, though.
