My review of Stitch

Stitch (The Stitch Trilogy #1) by Samantha Durante
Release Date: August 1, 2012
Goodreads | Amazon UK | Amazon

Stitch (Stitch Trilogy, #1)Her heart races, her muscles coil, and every impulse in Alessa's body screams at her to run... but yet she's powerless to move.

Still struggling to find her footing after the sudden death of her parents, the last thing college freshman Alessa has the strength to deal with is the inexplicable visceral pull drawing her to a handsome ghostly presence. In between grappling with exams and sorority soirees - and disturbing recurring dreams of being captive in a futuristic prison hell - Alessa is determined to unravel the mystery of the apparition who leaves her breathless. But the terrifying secret she uncovers will find her groping desperately through her nightmares for answers.

Because what Alessa hasn't figured out yet is that she's not really a student, the object of her obsession is no ghost, and her sneaking suspicions that something sinister is lurking behind the walls of her university's idyllic campus are only just scratching the surface...

Stitch is a mixture of paranormal romance and dystopian sci-fi. Get ready for an incredible adventure that will blow your mind with every twist and turn.

Alessa is coping with the sudden death of her parents when she starts college. Things start to liven up when she begins seeing a handsome ghost appear in random rooms around the house she's staying in. Alessa is determined to find out who the boy is and why he's suddenly the only thing she can focus on. But her research is put on hold when she discovers a secret and will change both her, and her life, forever.

Wow. Samantha Durante knows how to shock readers, that's for sure! Stitch starts off ordinary and you don't understand how the book could be classes and a dystopian or sci-fi. Until...BOOM! Half-way through the book a big secret is unleashed and everything changes dramatically.

Stitch is unpredictable. I think that's the only word I can use to sum it up. Even though it starts off slow, it does pick up the pace and your finally hit with that wave of excitement.

Action, mystery and romance. Check out Stitch for an epic adventure that will leave you wide-eyed and ready for more. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes dystopian and sci-fi mashed together with romance sprinkled lightly over the top.

  1. I knew from the moment I saw the cover for Stitch that I would read the book, regardless of the synopsis. I mean, how could you possibly pass it up? Now that I am seeing some reviews coming in for it, and hearing that it is a really good book, I am even more excited about it. I really like that the protag is college aged. It is a nice change of pace. And have I mentioned that I really like the cover? :) Thanks for the review. Ah, how I love a short and sweet review!
