My review of Hunting Lila

Hunting Lila (Lila #1) by Sarah Alderson
Release Date: August 5th, 2011
Goodreads | Amazon UK | Amazon | The Book Depository

A thrilling and exciting book that you won't be able to put down.

Hunting Lila (Lila, #1)
17-year-old Lila has two secrets she's prepared to take to the grave. The first is that she can move things just by looking at them. The second is that she's been in love with her brother's best friend, Alex, since forever. After a mugging exposes her unique ability, Lila decides to run to the only people she can trust - her brother and Alex. They live in Southern California where they work for a secret organisation called The Unit, and Lila discovers that the two of them are hunting down the men who murdered her mother five years before. And that they've found them.

In a world where nothing and no one is quite as they seem, Lila quickly realises that she is not alone - there are others out there just like her - people with special powers -and her mother's killer is one of them…

Sarah Alderson has created a fun and dangerous world where people with unique abilities are not welcome. Hunting Lila is a book that anyone can enjoy. It's full of secrets, action and complicated relationships, it will sweep you off your feet and have you swooning over boys you wish were real.

If you love honest and bright characters you will love Hunting Lila for sure. It's packed full of characters with wonderful personalities. Lila is an innocent girl with an adorable crush on her brother's best friend, Alex. Alex is gorgeous and sweet, everything Lila loves. But there's some problems....She's his best friend and she thinks that he obviously doesn't feel the same way. But on top of that, Lila hasn't seen him for 3 years. Lila has been living in England and hasn't Alex or her brother since. It's time to go back, she thinks. Back to her brother, back to Alex, back to the people who care about her.

Wow, Hunting Lila has some major twists that you'd NEVER expect. Nope, you'll never see any of it coming. Each page is a master piece and I couldn't help but want to read it over and over again. It has such a gripping story line! It's a new take on paranormals, have you ever read anything about people with special abilities on the run? Apart from X-Men, of course.

I must admit, one of Sarah's characters has taken my fancy....*Swoon* Alex, of course?! You will know exactly what I mean when you read it. Alex will have you drooling, swooning, smiling and laughing. He is the perfect role-model of what a boy should be like; kind, caring, sweet, protective, strong and most importantly KISS-ABLE!

Overall, Hunting Lila is a book NO ONE should miss. I advise all of you to go out and get this book. RIGHT NOW. Yes, now! But no worries, if Hunting Lila isn't released in your country you still have time! The sequel, Losing Lila, is releasing in August 2012. Anyway, this is a book full of romance and kick-ass action! Hunting Lila is made of PURE AWESOMENESS! It will leave you breathless and desperate for more. This is Sarah Alderson's debut novel but you can also enjoy her January released, Fated.
