My review of Paintshark

Paintshark by Kingsley Pilgrim
Released Date: December 2011

An action packed book FULL of gory moments!

In a parallel univere, planet earth is being brought to its knees, and the dystopian city of Olympia has resulted in many changes. The city's economy is in tatters, with television broadcasters ruling the land.

The most powerful of these in the maniacal 'Big Man', whose ultra violent programme 'Game Show' is the most popular show to watch, but as ratings suddenly start to slide, Big Man resorts to shock tactics to remain at the top. He shuts down the schools and kidnaps students - forcing them to fight by his genetic engines in their laboratories.

However, kidnapping gifted student Cassandra Paintshark and her best friends may turn out to be his biggest mistake; Cassandra isn't a typical teenager, call it a gift or a curse, whatever it means, to rescue her friends and take down Big Man's tyrannical regime once and for all.

Paintshark was a truly terrifying novel! Blood, guts, beetles that dig into human flesh and crawl around, Paintshark has all that and more. If you love a real horror/thriller/action type of thing this is definitely a book for you!

What do you do when you go clubbing one day and wake up itching your arms like crazy? When you suddenly show signs of 'magical' transformations? You join The Game Show of course! 'Big Man', a lost and lonely man, who has nothing better to do with his life, kidnaps a bulk of school students and puts them in his disgusting game shows. You have no choice. You fight for your life.

Paintshark was a book that I had to put down and take a few deep breaths before I could carry on, this was because of my heart racing against my ribs. The way 'Big Man' treated other beings made me want to punch him. Seriously, he's just one crazy man.

Cassandra and Kimberly, two best friends, one who loves action and danger, the other loves to keep quite and prefers to step in when she is needed. Their friendship and determination gets them through the tough challenges on 'The Game Show'.  They were fun characters who happended to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Overall, Paintshark is a great book that everyone should try out!
