My review of A Million Suns

A Million Suns (Across The Universe #2) by Beth Revis
Release Date: January 10, 2012 (US), April 5, 2012 (UK)
Goodreads | Amazon UK | Amazon | The Book Depository

A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2)Godspeed was once fueled by lies. Now it is ruled by chaos. It’s been three months. In that time, Amy has learned to hide who she is. Elder is trying to be the leader he’s always wanted to be. But as the ship gets more and more out of control, only one thing is certain: They have to get off the ship.

A Million Suns is such a unique book. I know you can say that about many books but this book is TRULY unique. Seriously, have you read any other book where people are stuck in a ship floating around in space? I have not read any other book that is set in space (except the first book, of course) and I think it is safe to say, after reading this book, that Beth Revis' future projects are going to be mind-blowing.

If you've never heard of this trilogy before and would like to try out it out, I would strongly recommend you to stop reading this review and buy the first book, Across The Universe. Don't think that you can just start reading A Million Suns without knowing what happened at the start. Plus, I'm sure you wouldn't want to ruin such an amazing trilogy by starting in the middle, would you?

A Million Suns pretty much picks up from where Across The Universe left off. Amy is still stuck on Godspeed and trying her best to hide who she is. It's been three months since Eldest died and Elder is trying to be the leader that the people on Godspeed deserve, it's not been easy. With innocent citizens dying and warning messages popping up everywhere, Elder does not want to give up. But with food supplies, water and faith running low, can Amy and Elder find the secret to getting to their destination?

This book was full of surprises and twists. And when I say full, I really do mean FULL. Every single page was unpredictable, and that's what I love about these books. I can NEVER guess what's going to be around the corner.

The main characters, Elder and Amy? I couldn't get enough of them. I really how the chapters are broken up between them. I enjoy being inside both of their heads! It's especially nice to see how the characters feel about each other. Elder and Amy's relationship is very interesting. The flirting, the comments, it's all very cute but I couldn't wait for them to just spill their hearts out!

You know when you read a book and you find out there's going to be a sequel and you can immediately tell what's going to happen next? That is called a dull and lifeless book. Well, I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen in Shades of Earth, book #3. Beth Revis can just pull something jaw-dropping out of her tiny bag of great ideas and surprise us all. And that's what makes her books sofreakingamazing.

Overall, A Million Suns is a book that all young-adult lovers should try out! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a book that they won't be able to put down. I can't wait to read Shades of Earth and see what surprises Beth Revis has up her sleeve.....
