My review of Insurgent

Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth
Release Date: May 1, 2012
Goodreads | Amazon UK | Amazon | The Book Depository

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)War looms in sixteen-year-old Tris’s dark dystopian world as disputes between the factions grow. Tris must now fight against all odds to discover the truth that can save her and the people she loves. Sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge – and the choices she makes will have devastating and unexpected consequences

BOOM!

That's what reading Insurgent was like. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! It's fast paced, exciting, action-packed and full of twists that will have readers on the edge of their seats. Veronica Roth has delivered a mind-blowing sequel!

Insurgent picks up from where Divergent left off. We follow Tris and Four as they take a journey to find out what's really going on between the factions. They take shelter with Amity, which I found extremely interesting because all we saw in Divergent was a whole lot of Dauntless and glimpses of Erudite and Abnegation. It was great to see what the Amity was like in the stability of their own land. I loved the new atmosphere that the book had and the pure joy of reading scenes with Tobias in it!

Yes, Tris has decided to call him Tobias! And may I say, what a great choice! In this book we get lots more Tris and Tobias romance (no objections here) and I loved every page of it. Tobias is a very protective and strong male character who definitely deserves are equally strong female character, Tris. Their relationship in this book wasn't exactly the most simple or the most perfect but it was exciting and very, VERY fun to read about!

We all know that Veronica Roth is amazing at writing action scenes, right? Well, she doesn't let us down in this one! Some authors make action scenes so boring but Insurgent never has a dull moment.

Overall, Insurgent is a stunning sequel that has definitely delivered and will satisfy all Divergent fans! If you loved Four in Divergent....be prepared to fall in love with him all over again in this unforgettable book about love, loss and betrayal.

  4. LOVE your review!
I absolutely LOVED Divergent!!! 5-star OUT OF THIS WORLD for me!!! Plus, I'm not even a fan of Dystopian novels! LOL!!! However, Divergent had me in it's grips!! I read it because everyone else was, to be honest, and I'm SO glad I followed the crowd! I've noticed if you 'follow the crowd', you are NOT disappointed! LOVED the book!
I am SOOOO looking forward to reading Insurgent, I'm DYING!!! I have several review books to read FIRST, BEFORE I can get to Insurgent! I even pre-ordered it! I did that, though, because Harper Teen had that special bit about hearing MORE from Four! I wanted SO bad to read it, and I'm glad I did! A little funny comment about what Four was saying. I'm reading along, enjoying it immensely, and all of a sudden it STOPPED!!! Just like Veronica Roth, to keep us hanging!!
Hey! I'm Team Abnegation!!!!!!!!!! Go Team Abnegation!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks for the review!
You just put MORE sugar on my tastebuds! DYING to read it!!! It's on my Kindle, but I MUST BE GOOD AND FOLLOW MY RULES!!! REVIEW BOOKS FIRST!!! I'M DYING!!!!!!

You don't tell us much about the story, but that Veronica Roth, the author, delivers again!
One more thing! I read the Kindle version of Divergent, as I LOVE MY KINDLE!!!! Anyway, I did not think the book was that long as it read SOOOO fast! Wow! Then later I find out it was close to 600 pages!! I was shocked! The book FLEW by! I'm sure Insurgent will, too!!!
This series is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! This is coming from a 45 year old woman, too!! LOVED IT!!!!

  5. I loved Insurgent too! And I totally agree with you in what you said about being able to see Amity in this book. That was one of my favorite aspects: being able to learn more about all the factions and see what each of them is about. Great review!
